Several calls on Saturday and Monday. Similat content to Pat's experience (above). Said my computer had been hacked and users in several countries were pretending to be me. "Microsoft Licencing Branch" would cut my internet access unless action was taken. Was keen to give me my computer's secret licensing number so I would know he was genuine and wanted to talk me through how to access it myself, as proof. I said I would check with Microsoft myself and after considerable pressure from me he said his name was Alex Robertson and was on the above number. I could hear in the background a female colleague of his giving the same spiel to some other assumed "hackee"!

I have received a call alledging from Microsoft Reading branch. The caller stated my computer had been hacked and if I did not log into the computer immediately my user account would be blocked. I said it was not convenient as I was cooking lunch. The caller was insistent it would only take 5 minutes to log into the computer to check I had not been hacked. The caller said it was not to ask for money. When I insisted on calling back and having the number the caller got a little aggressive. The call display on the landline showed' International'
