This African/Jamaican sounding person claimed to be from bt and said he was checking for internet connection faults...I went along with him ,immediately realising he was not official.I asked for his name and he said David Jones then i asked for his number, he said 0800 1502.At this point i said i know this is a scam and hung the phone up !

Two calls this morning claiming to be from BT/Openreach telling me there was a problem with my broadband and that many people are connecting to my wi-fi, The first caller actually asked me if I thought he was calling from BT, when I said no he hung up. The second caller an hour later could have been the same caller, both sounded Indian. I tried to play along with the second caller and said it was worrying that many people were connected to my wi-fi and I asked him how BT could detect this at which point he hung up.

Woman purports to be from BT and starts talking about internet problems. Tone sounded East European. Seems to be a scam to get at any information that would allow someone to remotely access a computer
