Called me at 15:10 21/12/16 - heavily accented Indian gentleman tried to convince me that my a number of attempts had been made during the night to access my broadband via my laptop - when I advised him that the only way anyone could access my broadband via my laptop & telephone line is that they would have to be sat in my kitchen with my laptop switched on (which it isn't, overnight) he suddenly went very quiet, though I could hear lots of his colleagues in the background (somebodies got a hell of a scam going on here). Come on BT get your act together, these guys are doing untold damage to your reputation (such that it is....!!)

Again like previous posts..tried to persuade me my internet connection had been hacked...stated from BT..said my service provider had been notified and wanted me to cooperate by changing my security details...I then asked him who my service provider was...they said Sky...I am with Virgin so put phone down. Surely BT should act quickly to close their lines as BT reputation is being tarnished. Call around 1.30 pm Friday 9/12/2016...gent with Asian accent

Received a call thismorning. Female, with accent, stated she was from the BT Technical Dept. and that my internet link was shortly to be cut off for two days. Made no comment to see what would happen and after repeating herself - with a few hellos - she hung up. Out of intertest tried ringing the number but received the message "number not recognised".

Caller claimed to be from BT internet security. He went to great lengths to persuade me that they knew of attempted hacks on my internet account. The story was very convincing and, although skeptical, I was lulled into that false sense of security where I thought it was probably genuine. They did persuade me to take actions whereby they could access my bank account, and then entered into a phony installation of protection software, which was only a delaying tactic. My suspicions definitely aroused, I checked my account from another device and found that it was indeed fraudulent. A prompt call to my bank prevented any loss. The number has tried to call me back again since ending that call.

A young man with a very heavy Asian/Indian accent rang this afternoon at 14:55, November 10th, said he was ringing on behalf of BT about my Internet. Before he could get another word in, I said my Internet is OK and there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m with Sky Internet, not BT, so if there was a problem, they’ll ring me or email etc.

Received a call from this number at 09:10 this morning from a heavily accented male who said he wanted to discuss my broadband. I refused telling him I knew it was a scam and then hung up. Phone line hasn't worked since, reported to BT (I think) but no action as of 12:53.

I have just received a csll from this number saying they were from BT but I wasn't convinced. I was told to switch on my computer and stay on the line! I refused to do this and rang off. When I rang the number back it said "the number you have dialled has not been recognised", .
