Chap with a strong Indian accent said he was from BT and was putting a free call blocking in place. Then wanted to know various details: age, marital status, number of house, etc. I pointed out that BT don't need those details to put call blocking in place; he said they had to verify my identity as a BT customer. I asked who had asked for the call blocking, he reiterated that it was a free service initiated by BT and he brought the call to a close. If it is the introduction to a scam it is a carefully planned one - luckily I never give any details over the phone, especially financial or computer related ones, unless I have initiated the call!
