Caller gave name Michael Atenaga and was asking for money to stop nuisance calls nd wanted bank details. Also gave a mobile number 03303530023 to re contact him. Was not interested further when no details of a bank account were given..

I had a miss call from this number and then answered it the next time. A man said his name was Ross Anderson from a company like TPS ( I didn't catch the company name) and told me I had had a lot of nuisance/cold calls recently (how did he know?) and that I would be sent a welcome pack and a box? the size of a cigarette packet and this would block all calls from India, Pakistan Africa etc. and also block cold callers (isn't that what he is?) all for 64p a week for 3 years, but as I live in the RG5 area it would actually last a lifetime after a one off payment of £99.99. Please give me your card details over the phone!! I asked if I could do it another way and he said no, but he would wait whilst I went and got my credit card. I let him wait, cut him off and then blocked the number. He didn't have my name quite right but had my home address. He did sound very plausible but I make it a rule never to give bank details over the phone especially from someone I hadn't contacted in the first place.
